| Diamonds Nip KO, 4-3 | The Diamonds faced a stiff challenge from Long Beach pitcher Jose Ponce, but persevered to claim a win at Clam Jammer Dome. The final score was 4-3. Ponce went 8 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Tunica reliever Alexis Anguiano was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Jose Ponce took the loss for Long Beach. Andres Castaneda recorded the save for Tunica, his 8th of the season.
The Diamonds used some clutch hitting to beat the KO, a good example being the at-bat of Victor Mercado in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, Mercado gave his team the lead, 4-3, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Mercado.
The Diamonds raised their record to 13-31.
