| Dominant Performance by Alt in Caribbean Win | The Caribbean Commies got a strong performance from pitcher Jim Alt, who stymied the El Paso offense en route to a 5-1 win at Castro Field. The Commies bumped their record to 21-17 with this latest triumph.
Alt tossed 75 pitches over 6.1 innings to clinch the win for the Commies. The left-hander allowed just 1 hit, while racking up 8 strikeouts in the game.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said El Paso manager Bruce Joyner.
