| Cyclones Clip Commies in Tight Contest | The Brooklyn Cyclones eked out a 4-3 win versus the Caribbean Commies at Castro Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Bobby Mitchell, who captured player of the game honors. The Cyclones bumped their record to 20-15 with this latest triumph.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from catcher Yan Tallett. For the game, Tallett went 2-4 with 2 singles. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 21st hit of the season gave Brooklyn a 1-0 lead.
"Both teams played hard," said Brooklyn manager Jon Crowe.
