| Bomberos Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras | Vinny Rodriguez left his imprint on the 5-3 El Paso win against the Brooklyn Cyclones. Rodriguez, who is tied for 6th in the RR in triples with 2, was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. El Paso reliever Danny Eggen was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Joey Cabler. El Paso is 13-20 and Brooklyn, with the loss, 18-15.
Rodriguez had a game-changing home run in the top of the 12th. On a first pitch fastball from Joey Cabler, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Bomberos a 5-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Rodriguez.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Rodriguez told the El Paso Citizen. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
