Koenig Records Shutout Against Strong Style

It wasn't easy but the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas made it look that way.

Starter John Koenig shut out the Kyoto Strong Style despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas cruised to victory, 7-0. Koenig allowed only 1 hit and rang up 5 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

This year Koenig has fashioned a 2-2 mark, 3.16 ERA and pitched 37 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .205 against him and he has logged 39 strikeouts.
