The Strong Style grabbed a win, 4-1, at Sacred Kinkaku-ji Grounds, overcoming a fine effort from Scottsdale pitcher Lorenzo Perales. Perales went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Reliever David Matlock picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Lorenzo Perales took the loss. The Scorpions have now dropped 6 straight.

The Strong Style got a big at-bat from first baseman David Rios. For the game, Rios was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Kyoto a 2-0 lead.
