Diamonds Continue Skid Thanks to Velazquez, Commies

Commies third baseman Ivan Velazquez put his stamp on his team's 12-4 win over the Tunica Diamonds. Velazquez went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for Caribbean in the contest. The Diamonds have now dropped 6 straight.

Velazquez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 changeup from Victor Mercado, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Commies a 7-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Velazquez.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Velazquez.
