The Caribbean Commies picked up a win at Castro Field, knocking off the Tunica Diamonds, 3-1. Starting pitcher Ramon Pozo, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Pozo got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. Pozo allowed 1 earned run. Max Marinelli recorded the save for Caribbean, his 2nd of the season.

The Commies got a big at-bat from shortstop Ivan Velazquez. For the game, Velazquez went 1-4. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 16th hit of the season gave Caribbean a 2-1 lead.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Velazquez. "And not try to do too much."
