| Hot Start Continues for Rangers | Rockville Rangers starter John Rudge pitched a strong game against the Long Beach KO at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium, leading the Rangers to a 4-2 win. Rudge picked up the win for Rockville, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Alex Serrano nailed down his 4th save.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Mike Garrett. For the game, Garrett was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Rockville a 3-2 lead.
After the game, Rockville manager Allen Oliver applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
