| Bomberos Prevail, 5-3, Over Boca Raton | The El Paso Bomberos took Boca Raton pitcher John Koenig's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Scripps Field. The final score had El Paso getting past the Fighting Iguanas, 5-3. Koenig went 5.2 innings and allowed 5 earned runs, striking out 8. Even with the win, the Bomberos have a dismal 4-12 record.
El Paso used the timely hitting of Noe Chapa to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bomberos on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll build on this win," said Chapa.
