| Commies Edge Strong Style, 8-7 | The Caribbean Commies reigned over the Kyoto Strong Style in damp conditions at Sacred Kinkaku-ji Grounds.
The Kyoto Strong Style got a superb performance from second baseman Joe Koehn. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Caribbean. The Commies won the game, 8-7. In spite of the loss, Koehn was named the player of the game. He went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Caribbean, now 8-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Ivan Velazquez swatted a run-scoring double for Caribbean in the top of the tenth. The shortstop went 2 for 6 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 4.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Velazquez.
