| Bonilla Helps Commies Run Win Streak to 3 | The Caribbean Commies beat the El Paso Bomberos, 6-1, at The Back Draft. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Luis Bonilla, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The winner was Alfredo Carmona, who threw 81 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 6 hits. Picking up the save was Gabriel Menchaca, his 1st.
Bonilla had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Kiril van der Meer, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Commies a 5-1 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Bonilla.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Bonilla.
Caribbean goes to 5-2 with the win.
