Khang, Marysville Start Double A World Series Strong with Home Win

The Double A World Series got off to a quiet start today, with the host Marysville Monarchs taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the Carson City Mustang. Marysville left-hander Tae-sang Khang was marvelous at Mitts Fieldhouse and was named player of the game. The Monarchs now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Matt Pepple aided the Marysville cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Carson City manager Todd Barrett.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mitts Fieldhouse in Marysville. The scheduled starters for the game are Nick Davidson for the Carson City Mustang and Roger Katz for the the Marysville Monarchs.
