Knights Win to Extend Series Lead to 4-2
The Kingwood Knights moved to within one game of the Single A World Series today, downing the Victoria Vikings on the road at The drakkar by a score of 4-1. Knights right-hander Scott Schaefers was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Knights a 4-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Single A League Championship.

Kingwood grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Kurt Bittinger delivered a 3-run home run, to make it 4-1 in favor of the Knights.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Kingwood manager Chris Schell.
