| Vikings Clip Knights 3-2 in R1 Contest | The Victoria Vikings topped the Kingwood Knights by the score of 3-2 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the Single A League Championship today. The largest share of the credit went to player of the game and Victoria starter Luis Madrid, who threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball in the win.
Alex Alfredo helped out the Victoria cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"It's a mindset," said Madrid. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow in Houston. Slated to start are David Pensabene for the Victoria Vikings and Tsutomu Mori for the the Kingwood Knights.
