| Mills, Knights Wallop Vikings in Game 1 of R1 | The Kingwood Knights started the Single A League Championship in style today, winning on the road against the Victoria Vikings at The drakkar by a score of 6-2 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Knights designated hitter Ben Mills was named player of the game after he went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
Mills had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning, when he hit a 2-run single. The Knights went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Kingwood manager Chris Schell.
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow in Victoria. The scheduled starters for the game are Omar Cruz for the Kingwood Knights and Timmo van Bladel for the the Victoria Vikings.
