| Mustang Hammered by Wolter, Drop Game 5 to Black Bears | The Fraser Valley Black Bears have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Carson City Mustang, winning 13-5 at The Stetson Bowl today. Black Bears third baseman Mark Wolter was named player of the game after he went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Black Bears to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Double A League Championship.
Wolter had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the eighth inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Black Bears went on to win.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Fraser Valley manager Tom Klein.
Game 6 is set to be played Friday. Slated to start are Angel Ponce for Fraser Valley and Dave O'Donohue for Carson City.
