Mustang Hammered by Patty, Drop Game 4 to Black Bears

On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Carson City Mustang team, the Fraser Valley Black Bears had a tough assignment. Stephen Patty delivered.

The Black Bears catcher was unstoppable for the visitors, as he went 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 13-4. Patty, 22, was named player of the game for his efforts. The win means Fraser Valley now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, right fielder Jorge Sandoval came through big-time for the Black Bears. With Fraser Valley leading 3-2, he belted a 2-run home run.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Patty.

Game 5 is set to be played tomorrow at The Stetson Bowl. Slated to start are Nick Davidson for Carson City and Tyrone Mason for Fraser Valley.
