| Valcourt, Mustang Sink Black Bears Again in Game 3 | Riding the 3-hit performance of designated hitter Kirk Valcourt, the Carson City Mustang got a road win against the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 10-7, in Game 3 of the Double A League Championship today. Valcourt was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Mustang, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 0.
Had Valcourt not come through in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Valcourt hit a 3-run home run. The Mustang never looked back after taking the 10-7 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Valcourt told the Carson City Chronicle.
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at The Stetson Bowl. Slated to start are Kevin Murphy for Carson City and Carlos Delgado for Fraser Valley.
