Single A World Series Game 1 Victory for Robbins and Bel Air

The Bel Air Princes started the Single A World Series in style today, downing the visiting Kingwood Knights at Philip Banks Field by a score of 4-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Princes right-hander Kyle Robbins was named player of the game after he threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball.

Kingwood had a runner on 1st in the top of the ninth. With one out, Akira Kaneko came to bat, hoping to do some damage. Instead, he grounded out. The score remained 4-2, Bel Air. The Knights saw their comeback bid fail.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Philip Banks Field. Slated to start are Jesse Lundblad for the Kingwood Knights and Dave Velasco for the the Bel Air Princes.
