| Road Win Lifts Marysville to 2-1 Lead in R1 | With starter Tae-sang Khang leading the charge, the Marysville Monarchs defeated the Riverside Red Bulls, 7-3, in Game 3 of the Double A League Championship today. The left-hander threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball at Red Bull Stadium to help Marysville take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Frank Wickett aided the Marysville cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third. For the game, the right fielder went 1-3 with a triple.
"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Marysville manager Cohen Brouillette told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the Double A League Championship, it's only going to get harder."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Red Bull Stadium. Slated to start are Javy Alvarado for Marysville and Javier Figueroa for Riverside.
