| Road Win Lifts Rockville to 3-2 Lead in R2 | The Rockville Rangers moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the Montreal Cardinals on the road at Denis Coderre Stadium by a score of 7-1. Rangers designated hitter Mike Garrett was named player of the game after he was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win gives the Rangers a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Winter League Championship.
Garrett delivered in the top of the third inning for Rockville. With the game tied and runners on 1st and 2nd, the designated hitter hit a 2-run double to right.
Garrett told a Rockville Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
Game 6 is set to be played Saturday, September 25th, 2038. Slated to start are Danny Lee for Montreal and Alex Arenas for Rockville.
