| Road Win Lifts Montreal to 4-3 Lead in R1 | The Montreal Cardinals moved to within one game of the Winter League Championship today, downing the Normal Nutcrackers on the road at The Nutcracker Suite by a score of 5-3. Cardinals right-hander Lorenzo Oquendo was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Cardinals a 4-3 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
Leo Gonzales made it 3-2, Montreal, in the top of the eighth when he reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Cardinals win.
Gonzales said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
