| Boca Raton Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2 | Bill Gusman was not ready to let the League Championship Series end.
With the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas backed into a corner, the right-handed Gusman held off the Rockville Rangers. He took player of the game honors after he threw 9 innings allowing 4 runs. The win cuts the series deficit for the Fighting Iguanas to 3-2 in the best-of-7 series.
Boca Raton grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ricardo Basilio delivered a run-scoring double, to make it 5-4 in favor of the Fighting Iguanas.
"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Boca Raton manager Wing-chiu Zhou told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the League Championship Series, it's only going to get harder."
The next game is set to be played Wednesday at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium. Slated to start are Greg Stephanian for the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas and John Rudge for the the Rockville Rangers.
