Rangers Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0

The Rockville Rangers moved to within one game of the Winter League Championship today, downing the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas on the road at Scripps Field by a score of 6-3. Rangers right-hander Ivan Camarena was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Rangers a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Camarena allowed no earned runs on 1 hit over 6 innings for the Rangers. He walked 3 and struck out 8.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Rangers manager Allen Oliver said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Scripps Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Willie Marmolejo for Rockville and Bill Gusman for Boca Raton.
