| Garrett, Rangers Sink Fighting Iguanas Again in Game 2 | A clutch 9th inning gave the Rockville Rangers a walk-off win over the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas and a 2-0 lead in the League Championship Series at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium today. Young designated hitter Mike Garrett, 22, earned player of the game honors for the Rangers, after he went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Garrett hit a fastball from Leo Galaviz for a solo home run. The Rangers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Boca Raton manager Wing-chiu Zhou.
The next game is set to be played Saturday, September 11th, 2038. Slated to start are Ivan Camarena for the Rockville Rangers and Bill Gusman for the the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas.
