League Championship Series Game 1 Victory for Marmolejo and Rockville
The Rockville Rangers started the League Championship Series in style today, downing the visiting Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium by a score of 6-4 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Rangers right-hander Willie Marmolejo was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball.

The Fighting Iguanas had trouble solving Marmolejo, who surrendered 1 earned run on 3 hits over 7 innings.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Rockville manager Allen Oliver.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are John Koenig for the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas and Sergio Pichardo for the the Rockville Rangers.
