| Almost There: Hanshin On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 5-3 Win | Riding the 4-hit performance of first baseman Chris Schanzer, the Hanshin Tigers got a road win against the ORIX Buffaloes, 5-3, in Game 4 of the Japan Series Championship today. Schanzer was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Tigers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
Garry Mailing chipped in for Hanshin with a 3-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
