Saints Win to Extend Series Lead to 4-2

The Trois-Rivieres Saints got a strong performance from pitcher Josh Sanford, who stymied the visiting Kelowna Heat en route to a 6-0 win in Game 6 of the CBL League Championship today. The Heat could never get a bead on the right-handed Sanford, who threw 6 innings of shutout ball to earn player of the game honors. The Saints now hold a 4-2 in the best-of-7 series.

In his 83-pitch effort, Sanford allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 7.

"Josh was pounding the zone," said Trois-Rivieres manager Ira Wood.
