| Almost There: Trois-Rivieres On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 8-0 Win | When the games really matter, the Trois-Rivieres Saints put on their best show, beating the Kelowna Heat by a final score of 8-0 today. Bennett Fudge earned player of the game honors, as he was 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Trois-Rivieres now leads Kelowna 3-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Jérôme Petit, who is the 4th-best prospect in the Saints organization, aided the Trois-Rivieres cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder went 1-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch.
"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Petit said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
Game 5 is set to be played tomorrow at Brantford College Grounds. Slated to start are Rob Sparks for Trois-Rivieres and Don Barrett for Kelowna.
