| Javier, Heat Wallop Saints in Game 3 of R1 | The Kelowna Heat have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Trois-Rivieres Saints, winning 6-1 at Brantford College Grounds today. Heat left fielder Carlos Javier was named player of the game after he was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The win cuts the deficit facing the Heat to 2-1 in the best-of-7 CBL League Championship.
Javier's nice game included a clutch 3-run home run in the bottom of the first.
"I thought we played a nice game," Javier told the Kelowna Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Vernon Chute for Trois-Rivieres and Hugo Campbell for Kelowna.
