| Costain, Titans Wallop Patriots in Game 1 of R2 | The Carl Albert Titans started the Little League World Series in style today, winning on the road against the George Washington Patriots at Osprey Ballpark by a score of 6-2 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Titans catcher John Costain was named player of the game after he was 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
Costain delivered in the top of the second inning for Carl Albert. With the game tied and runners on 1st and 2nd, the catcher hit a 3-run home run to left.
Costain told a Carl Albert Times reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Osprey Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Justin Rieker for the Carl Albert Titans and Curt Gray for the the George Washington Patriots.
