| Bomberos Edge Diamonds, 2-1 | In a tight game between the El Paso Bomberos and the Tunica Diamonds, pitcher Sergio Reyes was terrific on the mound. The El Paso right-hander was named the player of the game in El Paso's 2-1 win. Alex Gomez picked up the save for El Paso, his 2nd of the year. The win takes El Paso to 2-2.
Had Jordan Amaya not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Amaya hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Bomberos.
"The old adage is true," said Amaya. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
