| Bomberos Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start | El Paso Bomberos starter Alex Marquez was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Tunica Diamonds, 6-3. El Paso reliever Manny Mendez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Felix Guzman was saddled with the loss. Alex Gomez closed it out for his 1st save.
The Bomberos got a big at-bat from catcher Hae-weon Chey. For the game, Chey went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave El Paso a 4-2 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Marquez told reporters after the game.
El Paso is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 1st in 3 games.
