| Rockhounds Edge Past Grays, 5-4 | The Midland Rockhounds eked out a 5-4 win versus the Georgia Grays at Field of Dreams. Nobody did more than pitcher Tony López, who captured player of the game honors. The 4th-place Rockhounds have won 6 consecutive games.
Had Ed Villegas not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Villegas hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Rockhounds.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Villegas said after the game.
