| Grays Lose to Rockhounds in Walk Off | Midland beat Georgia at Field of Dreams, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Ruben Fernandez, who earned player of the game honors. The winner was Pete Tupper in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Joe Kearns took the loss. Midland has now won 5 games in a row.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Midland trailing 3-2, Waylon Swerdlow hit a fastball from Joe Kearns to left-center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Rockhounds had a walk-off win.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Fernandez said.
