| Patriots Prevail, 5-3, Over Lerna | With first baseman Francisco Morales leading the charge, the Francis Lewis Patriots defeated the Lerna Lions, 5-3, at Ottawa HS Grounds. Morales was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Patriots bumped their record to 37-28 with this latest triumph.
Morales contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Francis Lewis in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-1, Morales took a sinker from Je-won Lim and stroked the home run to right. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Patriots to leap in front, 4-3.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Francis Lewis manager Justin Easton. "It's usually not just one thing."
