Bench Jr., who is tied for 8th in the PRL in hits with 84, was 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Mark Lipscomb got the win, improving to 5-4. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 10 and walking 4. Derby has now won 5 straight.
Mitsuaki Harada aided the Derby cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 2 with 2 walks.
