| Roscoe Excels, Jefferson Blows Out Grand Island | The Jefferson Indians had no problem beating the Grand Island Islanders, 16-2, at Ballpark of Monterrey HS. Brandon Roscoe led the way. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 6 for Jefferson. Bill Taggart picked up the win with 8.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 10. On the season, he is now 4-7. The 4th-place Indians have won 4 consecutive games.
Sam Pavlik, who is tied for 6th in the HAL in doubles with 17, aided the Jefferson cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher drew 4 walks. He scored 3 times.
