Patriots Rally For Late Win Over Lions

The George Washington Patriots racked up a win at Ballpark of Ecatepec HS, bumping off the Lerna Lions, 7-4. Jaden Levingston, who started for George Washington, pitched effectively for his team. The first-place Patriots have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.

The Patriots got a big at-bat from left fielder Gilbert Watkins. For the game, Watkins went 2-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 24th double of the season gave George Washington a 5-4 lead.

"We've got a great group of guys," Watkins said, "and we're having fun right now."
