| Chargers Deal Tigers Painful Loss | The Breakers Ballpark faithful were treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.
The Topeka West Chargers took Tenafly pitcher Jay Buhner Jr.'s best shot and still were able to claim a win at Breakers Ballpark. The final score had Topeka West getting past the Tigers, 4-3. Buhner Jr. went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 7. Topeka West reliever Matt Simmons was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Calvin Earle took the loss.
Kevin Galey was the walk-off hero for Topeka West. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Chargers catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Galey, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Tigers, now 19-38, have lost 4 straight.
