| Victory Over Mustangs Takes George Washington to 40-17 | George Washington Patriots starter Jim Joseph was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Downsview Mustangs, 5-2. Joseph, the winner, moves to 4-4. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 4 walks. Ichiro Matheny converted his 15th save in 18 tries.
Sisto Larco, who is tied for 7th in the PRL in doubles with 17, aided the George Washington cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Joseph, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
George Washington is now 40-17, 9½ games up in the Pete Rose League Roger Clemens Division.
