Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Mike Klein, the Kearny High Cardinals defeated the Pitman High Panthers, 8-5. Klein was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Cardinals. Domenic Backhouse converted his 1st save in 4 tries. Kearny High goes to 35-22. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.

Klein had a key at-bat for Kearny High early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Kearny High an early 3-0 lead.
