| Cardinals Win in Extras | The Montreal Cardinals dealt the Billings West Golden Bears a 12-7 loss at Guadalajara HS Grounds. Roy Greer was the star on offense. He went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. Even with the win, the Cardinals have a dismal 18-37 record.
Greer had a game-changing single in the top of the tenth. On a 1-2 fastball from Rick Young, he banged a 2-run single to right-center, giving the Cardinals a 9-7 lead. It was the 59th hit of the year for Greer.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Greer told the Montreal Daily.
