| Montreal Wins, Rushton has 4 RBI | The Montreal Cardinals dealt the Topeka West Chargers a 11-4 loss at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds. Jay Rushton was the star on offense. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Jonathan Parker sewed up the save, his 2nd. Even with the win, the Cardinals have a dismal 17-37 record.
When the Cardinals needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Rushton who delivered. Facing Topeka West pitcher Josh Booker the bottom of the eighth with runners on 1st and 2nd, Rushton hit his 6th home run of the year. It made the score 11-3.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Rushton told the Montreal Daily.
