| Panthers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Canby, 10-7 | The Derby Panthers topped the Canby Lancers by the score of 10-7, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Chris Weissert. Weissert went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Panthers on the day. Derby reliever Matthew King was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Mike Mather took the loss. Kyle Kellam was credited with the save for Derby, his 3rd of the season.
One important at-bat for Derby came with two out in the top of the ninth inning. With the bases loaded, Weissert drew a walk, driving in 1 run, which contributed to the Panthers win.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Panthers manager Ernest Jenkins. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
The Panthers raised their record to 24-29.
