Vampires Pitching Ravaged by McGwire Jr.

It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Mark McGwire Jr. today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of Ecatepec HS and paced the Lions to a 9-5 win over the Santa Clara Vampires.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Lerna shortstop told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Mark McGwire Jr. hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.

Presently McGwire Jr. is batting .381 with 10 home runs and 54 RBIs. He has played in 52 games and scored 52 times.
