| Victory Pushes Patriots Record to 36-16 | The George Washington Patriots defeated the Tioga Central Tigers, 8-1, at Alleycats Ballpark. George Washington center fielder Rafael Escoto was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. George Washington leads the Pete Rose League Roger Clemens Division by 6½ games.
Escoto had no bigger at-bat than in the top of the fourth when the 15-year old center fielder hit a single. The single gave George Washington the lead, 1-0. It was his 60th hit of the season.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said George Washington manager Frank Robles.
