| Vampires Clip Mustangs, 8-7 | The Downsview Mustangs got a superb performance from center fielder Robert Fisher. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Santa Clara. The Vampires won the game, 8-7. In spite of the loss, Fisher was named the player of the game. He was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Santa Clara reliever Tommy Stoner picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Eric Engle absorbed the loss. Mike Holmes earned the save, his 9th.
The Vampires beat the Mustangs with some clutch hitting. The single by Jamie Vlasis in the bottom of the sixth is a good example. With two down, Vlasis gave his team the lead, 5-4, when he came through with the big hit.
"Feels good to get the job done," Vlasis said after the game.
Santa Clara now has a 3-game win streak.
