| Dawson Jr. Powers Tigers to 6-4 Win | Andre Dawson Jr. made an impact in the 6-4 Tioga Central win over Derby. Dawson Jr., who leads the PRL in RBI with 55, was 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Shane Russell picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-3. He struck out 8 in 6 innings. Ian Pfeiffer picked up the save, his 11th.
When the Tigers needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Dawson Jr. who delivered. Facing Derby pitcher Dave Segerstrom the top of the fifth with runners on 1st and 3rd, Dawson Jr. hit his 17th home run of the year. It made the score 4-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Dawson Jr. said after the game.
The Tigers bumped their record to 28-22 with this latest triumph.
